Jun hasn't been feeling well the last week+ but he seems to be getting better, so we hit Ann's trail to run up VB. I let Jun lead out and set the pace and we just chatted all the way up. Jun looked good and even pushed the hills, but he said his lungs were burning a bit. It was pretty hot out there and we hit the top in 46 min.

We had a fairly easy cruise on the way down and just talked almost the entire way back, never pushing it too hard. Good day.

40 minutes of weights at the gym. With Wasatch 100 only 10 days away I took it a bit easier at the gym. I don't want to strain or tweak anything. I'm starting to get pretty psyched for Wasatch.

Up at 4:45 am to run VB with Jun via Ann's before work. Other than being tired it was almost a perfect day out there. The temps were great, the sky was pretty much awesome and we had a nice chat all the way up to the summit. We never pushed it very hard, but still kept a decent enough pace. On top we took in the views which were incredible because of the pre-dawn sky. I love mornings like this.

We picked up the pace a little on the way down and just enjoyed the run. We stopped at the connector trail to fill our water bottles and then had a nice cruise back to the cars without seeing another soul on the trail.

Timpanogos attempt with Jun, Dors and MattVh:

Up at 4:00 am to attempt Timp with the boys. The weather looked really iffy, but we figured we could get in some decent miles with an outside chance of getting to the summit if the weather cooperated. We started on a new trail connects to the Timpanookee trail and almost from the start it was raining and the farther up the trail we went the more it rained. Once we connected to the Timpanookee trail the rain increased and so did the lighting and thunder. It was actually kind of fun, but eventually the rain was too much and we were totally soaked. Even if it stopped at that point it would have been dumb to continue because we would have been ice cubes up higher and hypothermia would have been an issue. As it was we ran down laughing the whole way and made it back to the car totally soaked through. I got home dried off and went back to bed and didn't warm up for a few hours.

My taper for Wasatch 100 has begun and it is driving me crazy. I will maybe run a few more times before Fridee, but I'll take it easy. Psyched!
