View Benchmark peak with Jared T.

Last week was not a very good one for me. I spent a lot of time resting my sore knee and not very much time running. I met Jared at Chevron at 7:00 am and we ran VB via Ann's off of Vintage View in Draper. The trail was in incredible shape and there were only a few patches of mud all the way up and back down. The weather forecast called for rain showers, but instead we had some excellent running weather the whole way. Unfortunately my knee started bothering me about mile 3 and hurt on all of the hills, so we were pretty slow after that. It didn't hurt as bad as my Wed trail run, but there is lingering pain there from the 100, so I'll be taking it easy again this week as well.

Sorry about your knee, hope it recovers quickly. Thats nice you did not get rained on, my husband came back drenched this morning. He was not quite so lucky.

I've decided that your knee is not being cool. It should have forgiven you by now for torturing it for 100 miles two weeks ago, for Pete's sake! Maybe if you're going to take it easy this week you can also sing to it and give it chocolates or something, just for good measure. :-)

Methinks Lake Mtn. should wait a bit, considering the weather and your knee.

Is it possible your knee is bothering you due to an IT band tightening? I always check there first when my knee hurts. Let me know if you need a link to the Myrtl Routine.

Rachel- Thanks. Me too.

Neasts- Yeah the rest of my body feels great and wants to run. I'll slap it before I give it chocolate. :)

Lily- I was thinking the same thing after my run on Sunday, so I've been rolling it pretty good since. There is pain on the outside, but also a little under the kneecap, but near the outside, so I'm thinking it could be ITB. Hopefully I can get it to calm down.

If it is the IT band, have you tried scraping it or ASTYM? I swear by it whenever I feel a twinge.

sounds like IT.

Warmer days are in our future.... and they are nicer to knees!
