I would have liked to get out on some trails this week, but it just didn't happen. Oh well, I will be spending at least 20+ hours on trails in the Wind Rivers on Saturday, so it will all work out.

Tonight it was too wet to go outside, plus the hail was HUGE, so I did 3 miles at the gym. My splits were 8:40, 8:10 and 6:40. Pushing the pace on the last mile was fun and I could have held it for another mile, but I want to save my legs for Saturday.

I am really getting nervous for Gannett Peak on Saturday. Lack of sleep, fickle weather, long distances from civilization, bugs, rugged and remote country, along with a serious climb make me a little uneasy, but I am confident it will work out. Yesterday when the storm was pounding my house with rain and hail I just couldn't help but think that weather like that is pretty common in the Winds, and what if we are 20 miles out and get blasted in a similar fashion? Not a good thought. It should be a fun adventure though.

Don't die, they'll feed you to the lions.

Lily- I'm not scared :)

Thanks Allie- The weather is one of the biggest concerns. You do not want to get caught in a storm up there. I'm hoping.

Jun- If I die I would like my ashes scattered in the following places:

Wind Rivers

Pacific Ocean

Lone Peak

Your moms place

My mom would be honored. On, and by the way, you left a sock there last night.

Oh snap!

So freaking jealous scott!! That will be an awesome trip. Are you leaving from Elk Heart to Titcomb Basin and over the pass to Gannet? You probably won't die. Cant wait to hear how it went.

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 12:05:36 from 66.239.250.209

Jun- I just don't know what to say.

Lily- You two might be my favs too (shhhh) :)

Bryce- Yeah, we are going in from Elkhart and into Titcomb basin, over Bonny Pass. It will be a KILLER day, but the views will be unreal. Titcomb is about as good as it gets in the U.S.

The thing you've always had going for you is your ability to keep moving, to never quit, and push through pain and fatigue (except on the Uinta's trip back in 04 - total FAIL). Keep your homies focused, be bold, and push to the summit. If you stand on top you will get home for sure. Text me when you are out. Don't worry about the time.

Dude, that sounds totally epic. Be safe.

Who are you doing it with? I want to see some sweet pics of the Titcomb basin.
