View Benchmark and sub peak solo:

I got to Ann's trailhead at 5:45 and was running up by 5:50 am. It was still dark outside and I opted not to use my headlamp because I knew it would get light pretty quick. The temps were perfect for the entire run. It was cool but not cold and a slight breeze most of the morning. My legs felt strong and I was ready to roll, but my tummy protested and I had issues with it for most of the run. CRAPPY!!! I was the only person on the entire trail all morning which was awesome and I saw a lot of wildlife out there. I made decent time up, but not fast. I ran everything except for the big rocky hill on the connector trail.

I hit the summit in 49 minutes and didn't stay long because I wanted to hit the sub peak as well, so I ran over there and tagged it too. Up on top I raised my arms in the air Rocky Balboa style and let out a primal yell. Runners high!

I just didn't have it on the run down and my stomach was still sour. Sucky! Oh well, I still saw an incredible sunrise and enjoyed another sweet run on Ann's.

The sunrise was awesome this morning and I bet it was absolutely beautiful from the peak! I hate it when stomachs have to ruin a run. Nice work out there Scott.

Thanks Rachelle. Yeah, the sunrise was awesome this morning.

Happy to see the Benchmark obsession continues... Stoked for Wasatch?

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 10:17:16 from 66.232.64.4

Oh yes it continues... :) I am so psyched for Wasatch right now. I feel great other than a few tiny nagging injuries (but who doesn't have those?) It is hard to believe that I only have two more weeks of training left.

From Lulu Walls on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 10:26:13 from 155.100.212.98

That's awesome! I am sure you will blow away your goal this year. Can't wait to see how you do :)

I didn't know you were doing Wasatch again. That is so exciting!!

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 11:05:57 from 66.232.64.4

I hope I can beat my goal. I think I'll be faster than last year, but with Wasatch you just never know.

I found dirty underwear with skidmarks up there recently. A tag with your name was sewn into the band.

Matt- I don't know what made me laugh harder, your comment or that you (the Wasatch Trail Sh*tter) is giving me a hard time about pooping on the trail.

Scott,

Hope you reach your Wasatch goal.

Miguel seems to have way more aptitude and appetite for this than I ever imagined.
