Took the dog out for a run tonight. I was planning on going 5-6 miles, but running wih my dog is hard work and by mile 3 my hip was sore because I had to constantly try and keep her from knocking me over and I was running and looking down a lot. It was horrible, so I decided to stop at 3 miles. My time was 22:30, but I have no idea what the splits were.

Your time was really good for having to fight with the dog the whole time.

Yeah Enoch, for a while there she was pulling me in a full sprint and then she would just stop on a dime to sniff something or try to take my legs out. The last mile I actually picked up the pace a lot to try and get back at her, but she seemed to like that.

What kind of a dog do you have? I have a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrannes and I can not take him on leash, because he will take me down, Odee is my trail running buddy. You are a good dog owner to run with your dog. Odee has actually knocked me and Maurine to the ground.

I am excited for you to do your first marathon, it is a wonderful accomplishment, sounds like you are doing a great job with your training. Keep it up! I bet you will become addicted!!! PC will be my 18th!!

Leslie, My dog is a Boxer/Australian Cattle dog mix. She is still young (almost a year old) and gets very excited when I take her out. I decided last night that at least for now I won't do anything over a mile with her until she gets a little better. I would still love to take her on hikes with me, but I'm not sure how tough she is. I took her hiking up Mt. Van Cott and after an hour she refused to move... thne again it could have been from the 100 degree heat. :-)

I'm really excitd for the marathon too. the 1/2 already started the addiction. Nice job on the 18. That is awesome!
